Ensuring pigs are brought to market at the correct weight can be the difference between a profit and a loss and it takes experienced workers to even remotely estimate and accurate weight.
We are creating a hand-held solution to tell you if a pig is at market weight or needs to fed more. The solution uses 3-D imaging attached to a mobile phone with machine learning to estimate the dimensions and volume of the pig to provide an accurate weight estimate. These images can be taken from any of a variety of angles allowing for a worker to take an image with the phone in one hand and mark the pig if ready for market in the other. The solution is currently in trials.
